Mandalay – Hanlin – Beikthano – Sri -Ksetra – Yangon
Rediscover ancient wonders.
This tour covers the first sites in Myanmar to be inscribed into the UNESCO World Heritage List which are known as the the Pyu City States. The Pyu City States were a group of city states that existed from c. 2nd century BCE to c. mid-11th century in present-day Upper Burma (Myanmar). The city-states were founded as part of the southward migration by the Tiberto-Burman-speaking Pyu people, the earliest inhabitants of Burma of whom records are extant. The thousand-year period, often referred to as the Pyu millennium, linked the Bronze Age to the beginning of the classical states period when the Pagan Kingdom emerged in the late 9th century.
Tour Program
Day 1
Mandalay
Mandalay – Hanlin – Mandalay by Private Vehicle (3-hour drive). Sightseeing in Hanlin. Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 2
Magway
Mandalay – Nat Mauk – Beikthano by Private Vehicle (6-hour drive). Sightseeing around Beikthano ancient city. Overnight in Magway.
Day 3
Prome
Magway – Sri Ksetra (Prome) by Private Vehicle (5-hour drive). Sightseeing in Min Bu & Min Hla. Overnight in Prome.
Day 4
Prome
Sri Ksetra. Sightseeing in Sri Ksetra by Private Vehicle. Overnight in Prome.
Day 5
Yangon
Sri Ksetra – Yangon by Private Vehicle (6-hour drive). Morning sightseeing in Sri Ksetra. Overnight in Yangon.

- The places of interest / sightseeing places mentioned in the itinerary are merely suggestions and recommendations. You may decide on which places to visit on any of the days you are in the respective destinations. Your guide will recommend the best sites to see based on your specific preferences and available time.
- Hotels mentioned in the program can only be confirmed only after receiving payment and therefore are subject to change depending on availability. We will first inform you if any hotel mentioned is not available and only with your approval will we proceed with booking an alternate hotel.

Day 1
Mandalay – Hanlin- Mandalay by Private Vehicle (3-hour drive)
- After breakfast, our tour representative will meet you at the hotel & drive to Hanlin (3-hour drive).
- Sightseeing in Hanlin & Cultural Heritage Sites.
- Places of interest in Hanlin:
i. Museum containing ancient artifacts including scripts which are considered to be the earliest writings of Myanmar
ii. Hot water springs
iii. Ancient villages
iv. Cultural heritage area - Evening drive back to Mandalay & transfer you to the hotel.
- Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 2
Mandalay – Beikthano by Private Vehicle (6-hour drive)
- After breakfast, drive to Beikthano. On the way to Beikthano visit Natmauk (Natmauk is the birth place of General Aung San).
- Visit General Aung San’s House which is well maintained by the department of Archaeology.
- After that half an hour drive to Beikhano which is west of Taungdwingyi township.
- Places of interest in Beikhano:
i. Ancient City Gate
ii. Palace Site
iii. Brick Monasteries
iv. Religious Buildings
v. Queen Panhtwa’s Territory
vi. Ancient Artifacts - After sightseeing, drive one and half hour to Magway.
- Overnight in Magway.
Day 3
Magway – Prome – Sri Ksetra by Private Vehicle (5-hour drive)
- After breakfast, drive to Minbu & sightsee at Satkain Te’ Pagoda, & Na Ka Pwe Taung (bubbling mud pools).
- After that drive to Min Hla which is famous for its traditional drum making houses and proceed to Kway Chaung Fortess built in 1880.It stands on the eastern bank of the river, it lies on the hill rising from about 450ft above the Ayarwaddy River. It is the most important as well as the biggest among the three fortresses, enjoy the breathtaking view of the mighty river and then drive to Prome.
- Arrive at Prome in the evening & transfer to the hotel.
- Overnight in Prome.
Day 4
Prome (Sri Ksetra)
- After breakfast, sightseeing in Prome (Sri Ksetra).
- Places of interest in Prome:
i. Baw Baw Gyi Pagoda (dates back to the 4th century and is a prototype for the Bagan era pagodas)
ii. Sri Ksetra Museum
iii. Palace Ruins
iv. Rahantha Cave Temple
v. Bebe Paya (10th Center pagoda) - Then drive an hour out to take a boat to visit the A Kauk Taung Pagoda which is on a hill with Buddha images carved into it. Climb the hill to the monastery above for an amazing sunset experience.
- Evening, drive back to Prome.
- Overnight in Prome.
Day 5
Prome (Sri Ksetra) – Yangon by Private Vehicle (6-hour drive)
- After breakfast, sightseeing in Prome & drive back to Yangon.
- On the way, visit a few local villages.
- Evening arrive at Yangon & transfer to the hotel.
- Overnight in Yangon.
