Get up close and personal with the largest land mammal.
This tour takes you to the Sein Ye Teak forests near Bago and offers a unique perspective into the teak logging process and the utilization of elephants. Men of the Karen (Kayin) people in this area work as “Oozies” living with and training the elephants. You will get a chance to meet the Karen people as well as stay with them at a traditional Karen Village.

Yangon – Taungoo – Karen Village by Private Vehicle. Overnight in Karen Village.
Day 2
Sein Ye
Karen Village – Sein Ye Forest Camp. Trekking in the teak forest. Elephant ride. Overnight in Sein Ye Forest Camp.
Day 3
Yangon
Elephant logging process. Sein Ye – Yangon by Private Vehicle.

Day 1
Yangon – Taungoo (Karen Village) by Private Vehicle (10-hour drive)
Karen Craftsmen
- After breakfast, drive to a Ethnic Karen Village in Taungoo (10-hour drive).
- You can observe and learn about traditional Karen life and how they survive in the jungle.
- Overnight at a village home (basic accommodation).
Day 2
Karen Village – Sein Ye Elephant Camp
A Logging Elephant
- After breakfast, depart for the elephant camp (2-hour drive).
- Observe elephants at work (teak logging).
- Elephant ride after lunch (optional).
- Trek through the teak forests.
- Afternoon / early evening return to camp.
- Overnight in Sein Ye Teak Forest camp (basic accommodation at a monastery or school).
Day 3
Sein Ye Camp – Yangon by Private Vehicle (3-hour drive)
- After breakfast, visit the teak forest again to learn more about the morning logging process.
- After lunch, drive back to Yangon (7-hour drive).
